Favorite Shirt

Many of you have little girls and many of those little girls LOVE to dress up. I have either read or heard about your daughter's wearing their "princess" gown the second they walk in the door or the outfits they choose to express themselves. As we all know, I just have boys and you may think that I do not have to face any of these "dress-up" situations, but I am here to say it is quite the contrary.

Wade LOVES AND ADORES his "Phoenix Suns" t-shirt. You may have noticed him wearing it in many of the pictures I have posted in previous blogs and you may have even wondered if I ever change his clothes. Well I do, but when we are home (like a lot of you with your girl's), I let him wear what he wants and 9 times out of 10 it is this t-shirt.

The moment we get home from anywhere, he beelines to his room and changes his clothes. Unless it is washing, he will always choose his "Suns" shirt. Matt loves this and, actually, encourages it. We LOVE the "Suns" and it is fun to watch our little boy like them too.

I believe Wade loves his shirt as much as he does because it makes his dad proud! He also loves to play, watch and talk basketball with Matt. Steve Nash is a favorite in our home by all of its members.

At this point, it hasn't got out of hand. He listens when I tell him to change back into his other clothes so we can leave our house so I, really, don't have a lot of room to complain. I just thought I would let you "girl" moms out there know that you aren't alone in this boat!

Unknown said...: I think that is hilarious! Clayton has a Lightening McQueen shirt that he is the same way about! Clayton's shirt, though, has paint and gum on it so he isn't allowed to wear it out of the house (this has caused many tantrums and fights). Marie Holmes said...: I love that Wade knows exactly what he wants. I have found that boys are pretty picky about what they wear. Spence won't wear levis, just pants with stretch band waists. Melissa Stadler said...: I love it! That is so cute that he wants to wear it all of the time. Steve Nash is the greatest and the SUNS are such a fun team to cheer for. It is nice to have a good role model in the NBA. Ha!

Jen - I totally feel your pain as far as 2 year olds go! It is tough! The interesting thing is that Carson learned how to get out of his crib in Utah as well. It was a crazy adjustment coming home and it took a good week for him to figure out that I am the "bad guy" that keeps putting him back in. Its strange and maybe its my imagination, but with having a boy now...people don't really pay attention as much at all to their clothes. Our Story

Welcome to our blog, it is fun to have you here to read about our little life here in AZ. Matt and I have been married for 13 happy years. We moved to sunny, AZ after both graduating from Southern Utah University (which is where we met.) We moved here so Matt could attend dental school. During school, we were blessed with two, darling little boys and our third little guy came shortly after Matt graduated. Wade is 11, Seth is 9 and Trent is 6. They are BUSY little boys who keep us on our toes, but we love it! We are still over the moon for our fourth child, A GIRL, Rylee who is 5! Our newest addition, Casen Judd, is 2 and is the sweetest thing on this Earth :)! Rylee will get to be our little princess forever. The boys will have lots of fun too! I was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in August 2012. We have been fighting the fight of our lives since then and do not plan to give up anytime soon. Very thankful for our family, friends, neighborhood, but most of all our knowledge of the Gospel that carries us through each day. We know our family is forever!

Me: "Why not?"

Wade: "Well if you play in the NFL you have to travel a lot so I won't see her."

Me: "What about during the off season?"

Wade: "Well, I guess I'll see her then."

Me: "No, we are going because Heavenly Father has asked us to. We are going through the Temple for people who have died so they will have the opportunity to accept the Gospel."

Seth: "Like Michael Jackson?"

Me: "Yes, like Michael Jackson."

Seth: "The doctor gave Michael Jackson too much medicine so his heart stopped and he died. He is in Heaven. You can go to the Temple for him."

Me: "Yes, that sounds like a good idea."

Wade: "Seth, you can't drink too much pop or you will get fat and have to go on Biggest Loser and exercise all day until you get in shape again."

Me: "Look Seth, they are starting to build the Temple right over there."

Seth: "Are they building it for you and dad to go in?"

Me: "Yes, they are."

Seth: "Are you going to get married in there?"

Me: "No, we already got married in the Temple by Ampa's house."

Seth: "Can we go inside?"

Me: "Yes, before they dedicate the Temple, you can come inside and look around with mom and dad. When you are 12 you can go inside and do baptisms for the dead too."

Seth: "Do we have to wear fancy clothes?"

Me: "Fancy clothes?"

Seth: "Yeah, like marrying clothes?"

Me: "No, church clothes are fine."

Seth: "Mom where is Ju?"

Me: "She is staying at Ampa's and visiting Marshall."

Seth: "So, she is staying with Ampa and can see Marsha whenever she wants?"

Wade: "His name is Marshall, if his name were Marsha he would be a girl."

later on that day:

Seth: [while skipping down the hall] "Ju is staying with Ampy and seeing Marsha whenever she wants!"

Me: (Sigh) :) "Sethie, his name is Marshall."

Wade: "Dad!, I don't want to watch this show. I do not like it. I do not like Stake Conference.

Matt: Stake Conference?

Wade: I mean General Conference, I do not like to watch it.

Matt: Wade, this is "American Idol" not General Conference

Wade: Well, I don't like that show. It's so boring.

Me: "How come?"
Wade: "Because when we drive for a long time it makes me hot and sweaty and it hurts my boose to sit there."

Me: "Oh, are you talking about the stockings?"

Me: "Sticky M&M's?"
Seth: "Yeah, you know those sticky one's that don't have chocolate in them?'
Me: "Oh, you mean Skittles?"

Wade to Uncle John: "Be careful not to go outside because if the lightening hits you, your heart will stop and your friends will bury your skin."
(meaning: I told him how his Grandma Joyce died when her heart stopped and her spirit went to Heaven and her friends and family buried her body here on earth.)

Me: "Sethie, go back to bed, it is too late."
Seth: starts singing, "It's too late to apologize, it's too late..."
